the joy of late summer
there's a thrill, and a pain, too, that's all about growing up.
yesterday I sat in my room and listened to Bing Crosby Christmas music while packing for college because I couldn't handle this thing called adulthood.
because summer is slipping by, lazy days, long drives through the country,
the smell of wildflowers, good conversations with the greatest people - those late night #GLUE conversations about God, life, the universe, and everything, impromptu jam sessions to Journey and Bon Jovi,
nighttime fireworks and ultimate frisbee in the dark, food and friends and more than enough laughter.
because I leave for college in just a few days, the best college that I ever could have chosen, to be with the best people.
because this life is so, so good. so good that it hurts sometimes. and that's why I sit there and listen to Bing Crosby.

Hay rolls against green grass and a blue sky are simply the best.

ReplyDeleteBing Crosby is the real deal.
